An actor from a young age, Brian began making silly videos one day in September 2020, when the world was a very different place and people were in need of a laugh. The next morning he woke up to thousands of likes and retweets on social media. Since then, people have taken to Janice and Frank as if they’re family, often forgetting that they were just watching a man in his living room having a laugh. “Scottish humour” Brian observes, “is robust and enduring: if people recognise a turn of phrase or a trait and find it funny, they don’t mind if the gag is surrounded by massive production values or interrogated by teams of writers.”
As the world began to get back to normal, Brian imagined what could be achieved if he took Janice to the stage. In December 2021, the first chapter of Janice and Frank’s story arrived in the glittering West End (of Glasgow) where Brian performed a string of sold out shows at Oran Mor.
He has continued to create and write since then and is now proud to welcome you to his second live production, ‘Uh Huh – The Janice and Frank Story: 2022’.
Brian trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formally RSAMD), graduating in 2007. He has since worked as an actor, comedian, musician, composer, writer and musical director.
Recent theatre credits include, The James Plays (National Theatre of Scotland), An Edinburgh Christmas Carol, Twelfth Night, The Winter’s Tale (Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh), McGonagall’s Chronicles (Oran Mor, Traverse, Tron, tour) and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (Dundee Rep).
